Pharmaka is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to building a creative and sustainable community in Downtown Los Angeles through contemporary art exhibitions and cross cultural programming.
The mission of Pharmaka is to explore the place and purpose of contemporary art by engaging and educating the community of Downtown Los Angeles through curated exhibitions, lectures, panel discussions, podcasts, and accessible community programming and events.
Committed to creating a culturally sustainable community in downtown Los Angeles, Pharmaka aims to expose the greater community of Los Angeles to contemporary art and establish an open dialogue about relevant issues related to our time. It is Pharmaka’s intent to leave a lasting impression on Los Angeles and to enliven the cultural awareness of our community through art that comments on social, intellectual, political, environmental and historical issues that would otherwise not be shown in traditional art venues.
