SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Pharmaka only accepts curatorial projects for future exhibitions and other related programs. The gallery does not accept submissions from individual artists.

  • Pharmaka is not a co-op.

The mission of Pharmaka is to provide opportunities to discuss the current state of contemporary painting. We encourage any independent curators on any level to take this opportunity.

Please include the following information in your submission package. Do not include folders, binders or any other binding devices in the envelope and do not staple anything. Do not include any materials other than those described below. Although you are welcome to inquire via email, we do not accept online submissions.

Submissions must include:

Exhibition description including the title of the show, proposed length of the show, artist names (with URLs), and contact information for the curator. Please explain why you would like to show at Pharmaka and how the show relates to the gallery's stated mission. Maximum 2 pages 10-20 images to support the show. If you are providing slides, please put them in an 8 1/2 x 11 plastic slide sheet and include a slide list.

Each slide must be labeled with artist's name, title, year, size and medium. You may submit up to 20 jpegs on a CD. Each jpeg must be at least 300KB and not exceed 500KB. Each jpeg must include at least the last name of the artist. These materials will not be returned. Ideas for lectures, discussion panels, or films related to the show, including names of speakers.

Supplemental documents to support the show such as newspaper and magazine articles about the artists. Information about sponsors or grants available to support the show. This is very important, especially for out-of-state submissions.
